Preparing for your stay at Gardens Centre Holiday Apartments
Here, at Gardens Centre Holiday Apartments, we want to help you make the most of your time spent with us.
Our apartments are all self-catering, which means that guests are required to provide their own food and beverages for the duration of their stay. To ensure that your experience at Gardens Centre Holiday Apartments is as hassle free and as enjoyable as possible, we want our guests to be prepared for the self-catering experience and know exactly what to expect. We have listed all the necessary facilities to take note of as well as some advice and top tips.
Each room has a fully stocked kitchenette which allows guests to cook and prepare their own food. If you do plan on cooking up a storm during your stay, then here is what our kitchenettes offer:
- Stove and oven
- Fridge and freezer
- Cutlery and crockery
- Kettle and toaster
As you can see, we try to offer ours guests all of the comforts of a home kitchen. In order to avoid food wastage, we suggest stocking up on non-perishable food items and only buying perishable food items as you need them, since fridge space is also limited. Non-perishable food items can easily be taken home or donated if not used by the end of your stay.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide everything you may need to fulfil your culinary desires, so we have complied a list of kitchen essentials that we suggest brining or purchasing upon arrival:
- Tea, coffee and sugar
- Coffee plunger
- Paper towel/serviettes
- Salt and Pepper
- Cooking oil and butter
- Herbs and spices
- Zip-lock bags or Tupperwares (for storing leftover food)
The location of our apartments makes shopping for the necessary self-catering supplies an easy task. The Gardens Shopping Centre beneath the apartments holds large branches of two of South Africa’s leading food retailers. This includes Woolworths, a high-end food and living retailer as well as supermarket chain Pick n Pay, which offers more affordable food prices.
Not keen on Cooking?
If cooking is not up your alley and you wish to avoid the kitchenette all together (which is fine- why not fully immerse yourself in the holiday spirit!), then there are alternative options to explore during your stay. A few floors down, the Gardens Shopping Centre offers a wide selection of restaurants and coffee shops. These include Ambeans, Cassis Paris, Hartlief Deli, Pulp Kitchen, The French Market and Vida e Caffé to name a few.
If you wish to look a little further afield, Gardens and the surrounding areas offer hundreds of restaurants to choose from.
